When do you think you fell in love with wine, enough to make a career of it?

When I came to Stellenbosch University I knew nothing about wine, all I wanted to do was to study. Getting myself to be an intern at Delheim wines brought more clarity to what wine making involves. That’s when I started to fall in love with winemaking.

What story does your wine tell?

It tells my story and my journey in general which is why I decided to name my company after my grandmother Aslina.

What misconceptions about wine do you think people should forget?

Winemaking is for men.

What great things about wine do you think people should remember?

Wine is art and behind every bottle there is a beautiful story.

What is a piece of advice you would give to a woman interested in breaking into the wine world?

My only advice would be to block the noise and focus on the end goal.
