When do you think you fell in love with wine, enough to make a career of it?

Over the course of my life, I’ve tasted many different wines. Among those that have impressed me the most are the white wines from Alto Adige, like Gewurztraminer, that have that unique aromatic and mineral taste. A ‘Vino di Meditazione’ - to be appreciated in and of itself. When I was 30, my dad passed away and we decided to continue the work that he was doing.

What story does your wine tell?

A story of family and region, with the aim of redefining how Prosecco Superiore DOCG is perceived.

What misconceptions about wine do you think people should forget?

In the wider market for Prosecco, it is sometimes thought of as just a drink and not a wine that must be respectful of certain characteristics.

What great things about wine do you think people should remember?

When you begin to taste it, you must bear in mind the link between the wine and the region. The wine must express its origins and its typical characteristics, reflecting its identity.

What is a piece of advice you would give to a woman interested in breaking into the wine world?

When my sister and I started as producers, there weren’t many companies run by women, but nowadays in the wine industry there are many more roles that women can develop in – from driving tractors and washing tubs to managing a cellar. You need to have clear ideas and fresh bubbles!

Where can women find your wine?

Our wines are available in restaurants and wine shops both in Italy and abroad. We have different importers and distributors all over the world, many of whom you can find here.

Our UK importer is Indigo Wines and we are also available through The Sourcing Table, Via Martiri and at the department store Harvey Nichols. From November 2020, we’re have our own Bronca shop, but only in Italy at this time.

Who is a woman in wine you think everyone should know about?

My admiration goes out to all those women who have chosen a life in the world of wine, especially those from younger generations. I can also mention so many of my colleagues who are incredible professionals, such as Matilde Poggi, Marinella Camerani or Stephanie Heinz.
